World Rankings
Welcome to the World Rankings of the ABAE courtesy of Boxing News weekly and Malcolm Meredith, Daniel Herbert and Santiago Nieva.
Once again the Russians and Cubans dominate the top spots. Cuba holds the number one rankings for:
- Bantamweight (54kg)
- Featherweight (57kg)
- Lightweight (60kg)
- Welterweight (69kg)
- Super-Heavyweight (91kg+)
Russia holds the number one rankings for:
- Flyweight (51kg)
- Middleweight (75kg)
- Light-Heavyweight (81kg)
The other leading Nations are; China at Light-flyweight (48kg), Thailand at Light-Welterweight (64kg) and the Ukraine at Heavyweight (91kg).
No one from the Home Nations has managed to break-in to the top 8 in the World at any weight. Let's hope when these Rankings are updated after the World Championships in Moscow (September 2007) it will be a very different story to tell.
