Guide to Insurance Cover
A key role of the Amateur Boxing Association of England is to provide the appropriate level of insurance cover for the Sport not only to reduce risk but also to adequately protect its members. This is a major expense of the ABAE.
These costs are funded from the Affiliation Fees generated each year from Associations, Clubs, boxers and all Officials.
Through careful management, and low claim levels, for 2006 / 2007 the ABAE has been able to renew its cover at a lower cost than the previous year. This is excellent news.
This guide has been produced by the Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE), in association with our Insurance Brokers (Henderson Insurance Brokers Ltd), for the benefit of all the amateur boxing clubs of England and its boxers, coaches and officials.
The guide sets out the insurance policy the ABAE has taken out, on behalf of its members, for the period 1 November 2006 to 31 October 2007. This 'Policy' has been purchased by the ABAE to mitigate against any potential risks and unforeseen events.
I would stress that a major factor in the cost of our insurance is the previous years claims. By managing this carefully we can all help to reduce the costs of this insurance leading to more investment in the sport we all love.
