Progress Made
The ABAE have now agreed to develop and deliver a public access point for the display and storage of the history of amateur boxing. It is hoped that such a facility will be open by 2012 as part of the Olympic celebration. Progress to date includes:
- ABAE commitment to deliver such a facility by 2012
- transfer of its archive into secure storage
- public appeal for donations
- development of this sub-site on the archive programme
- discussions with national bodies on potential locations to host such a collection
- appointing of a professional archivist for a (3) month period to catalogue the current collection, develop our collection policy and submit future funding held.
