Students battle it out at BUCS Championships
Friday 13th will be lucky for some, as the 2009 British Universities & Colleges Sports Association Boxing Championships get started at the Engish Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
The competition will take place from Friday March 13th to Sunday March 15th, and this year promises to be as explosive as ever, with competitors including Sam Maxwell (Liverpool Hope), a slick switch-hitter and last year's boxer of the tournament trophy-winner, and Becky Lee, who beat Aberdeen's Sinead Shehan at 54kg and was awarded the best female boxer trophy. Last year's best technical boxer Jade Mellor (Liverpool) is another strong female boxer to keep an eye on, and there'll be a host of fresh talent to watch out for.
