SportsAid update
The ABAE is delighted to announce that 19 of our club and international boxers have been awarded a £500 grant and a further 14 ABAE boxers are being considered for grants of £500 and £1000.
SportsAid is an organisation based in London that award grants to talented young athletes aged between 12 and 18. These grants are thankfully generated by donations from The National Lottery and the private sector.
The grants are given to support "Gifted Young People" in developing their talent and are to be used for helping with costs such as travel, accommodation, training and equipment.
A SportsAid grant not only provides financial support but it also provides recognition. It acknowledges that young athletes have a special ability and with the correct level of support, they could go on and achieve their full potential.
Congratulations from the ABAE and SportsAid to the following boxers who have been awarded a £500 grant.
