Royal Navy ABA Schools Championships Finals - Day two

Day two of the Royal Navy ABA Schools Championships Finals saw the biggest crowd of support of the Championship, as several local boxers competed for a place in the history books alongside some of boxing's biggest stars.

For those who had travelled from further afield, however, there was plenty of encouragement from the crowd at the Goresbrook Leisure Centre in Dagenham.

Once they had competed there was a chance for the boxers to learn more about careers in the Royal Navy, and winners were presented with a pair of much coveted golden gloves by Navy staff.

ABAE Chairman Keith Walters said : "What these youngsters have achieved since the beginning of this competition is something really special. They have put in a lot of work to reach the finals. It's a tough championship trail, but these boxers can go into school tomorrow and tell their friends that they are ABA champions."

Keith also thanked the Royal Navy for its continued support of youth boxing and all of the officials and volunteers who made the weekend a success.
