Dereck Hoile, Fareham ABC
The Amateur Boxing Association of England is sad to report the death of Dereck Hoile on Wednesday 17th September 2008, aged 69 years.
Dereck was the head coach and founder of Fareham ABC in Hampshire, as well as a founder member of Titchfield ABC. He was both a boxer and a coach and served his sport for over fifty years. Dereck was diagnosed with motor neurone disease only a few months ago, and his illness was short.
A very charismatic figure with a great personality, Dereck was known to club coaches and officials the length and breadth of the country. He had a great passion for the sport of boxing and will be sadly missed.
