Disability no barrier for Stockport boxing tutor

A Stockport man has become England's first qualified disabled boxing tutor thanks to a course jointly organised by Stockport Council and the Amateur Boxing Association.
Pat Bailey, from Reddish, successfully completed the one day Boxing Tutor Course, becoming England's first disabled boxing tutor.
The course is open to anyone aged over 16 and qualifies successful participants to deliver and organise the ABA Boxing Awards in schools, colleges, universities, youth centre's and sports centres.
Advanced Coach and Course Leader Q Shillingford, said: "Pat has been awesome! I have been overwhelmed by his attitude and commitment to the course. He is a great ambassador for all disabled performers and will hopefully pave the way for many more to participate in the ABA Boxing Tutor Course."
The course was so successful that the Council's Sports Development team will be running a second one in the near future. To book a place on the next course or for more information, contact Sue Molyneux on 0161 474 4516 or email sue.molyneux@stockport.gov.uk
