Commenting on the selection, GB Head Coach Terry Edwards said: "The qualifier in Pescara will be extremely tough with only finalists guaranteed of Beijing Qualification. Having said that, the form and experience of this squad is considerable and I am confident the team will perform well. The recent preparations at the Sheffield multinations, the Strandja tournament in Bulgaria, and the training camp with the Irish and French in Dublin have all gone well. I am also excited about the youngsters who are coming through and have earned their selections on the back of some impressive results."

Delighted for the selected team, ABAE Chairman Keith Walters added: "I would like to congratulate all the boys on their selection and wish them all the best for Pescara. Let's hope they can build on the fantastic achievements of the World Championships in Pescara. The team boasts an excellent mix of youth and experience and I am excited about their prospects."
