One step closer to Beijing for five in Pescara
The hard work is paying off for the GB squad out in Italy. Five of the English boxers have now made it through to tomorrow's (Friday) semi finals, where they face another round of stiff competition from their European counterparts. At stake is a place in this summer's Olympics.

57kg Stephen Smith beat Michal Chudecki (Poland) 23:7
'Swifty' Smith will now go on to box Khesafi Djelkhir of France in the semis.
69kg Billy Joe Saunders beat Zhvania Kakhaber (Georgia) 15:5
The Hoddesdon eighteen-year-old boxes Ukrainian Olexandr Stretskyy next for a place on the Beijing team.
75kg James DeGale beat Darren Sutherland (Ireland) 23:22
'Chunky' faces Hungarian Istvan Szili tomorrow.
91kg Danny Price beat Ilias Pavlidis (Greece) 15:5
The Scarborough heavy now faces Ukrainian Aleksandr Usik.
Bad news for
91kg+ David Price, who suffered an unfortunate loss against David Arshba of Azerbaijan
and
48kg Paul Butler, who lost against Ferhat Pehlivan (Turkey)
Both boxers should be congratulated on brave performances throughout.
