The Amateur Boxing Association of England and the British Amateur Boxing Association (BABA) are very disappointed to learn that World Champion lightweight (60kg) boxer Frankie Gavin has failed to make the weight for tommorow's opening statutory weigh-in in Beijing, and wil therefore miss the 2008 Olympic Games.
The ABAE and BABA will immediately investigate the situation through the GB Boxing Programme, its head coach and team manager Terry Edwards and the coaching staff and sport science support services.
