Dale Youth middleweight James DeGale enters his second preliminary bout of the contest this Saturday. The Hammersmith boxer faces Shawn Estrada of the USA after he beat first round nerves to overcome Egyptian Mohamed Hikal.
Birmingham flyweight Khalid Yafai's first Olympic bout comes in the form of Cuban Andris Laffita on Saturday. One of the younger members of the squad at 19, Khalid will be hoping that his age helps give him the edge over his 30-year-old opponent.
Tony Jeffries and David Price are each one win away from a bronze medal. Tony takes on Hungarian Imre Szello next Tuesday, while David boxes Jaroslav Jaksto of Lithuania on Monday.
