Super heavyweight 'Dynamite' David Price lived up to his nickname as he floored Russian Islam Timurziev twice in the second round of his contest this afternoon.

Stepping over the ropes into the ring, Price expected a difficult contest against the Russian, but although he was 2 points down at the end of the first round, the Englishman went on to deliver two crushing blows to the head of his opponent, giving the Russian two standing counts and forcing the referee to stop the contest.

Proud GB head coach could barely contain his joy in a post-bout interview. He already has four boxers through to the next rounds and Price only needs to win one more bout to win a medal. He will now face Lithuanian Jaroslav Jaksto on Monday.

Tomorrow morning sees Billy Joe Saunders take to the ring again, this time against Cuban Carlos Suarez Banteaux. Bradley Saunders faces Alexis Vastine or France and light heavyweight  Tony Jeffries has his first contest against Columbian Eleider Alvarez.
