Boxing coach among 'unsung heroes'
Police Community Officer Craig Turner picked up a prestigious award at a ceremony honouring unsung heroes in the South Gloucestershire area.
At the annual community awards ceremony held at the Tortworth Court Hotel, Craig was praised for 20 years' service to the youth of the county at the Downend amateur boxing club.
Local council chairman Sandra O'Neill said: "The hard work, time and effort given by local volunteers plays a vital role in providing help and support for community groups. The award ceremony gives South Gloucestershire Council the opportunity to recognise and show our appreciation to these people who have displayed such outstanding devotion in voluntary work across the district.
