Gold for Price at Good Luck tournament
Danny Price has taken the gold medal in the Good Luck tournament - a test event at the Olympic boxing stadium (17th-22nd Nov).

The Scarborough boxer's American opponent was unable to box due to an injury, but Danny's skills were never in doubt this week and coach Terry Edwards expected him to emerge victorious from the final.Four England boxers travelled to Beijing with Terry Edwards, coach Nigel Davies and English Institute of Sport Physio Dawn Borland.
17 nations and 76 boxers have been competing in the six divisions over the 6 day tournament, and you can visit the Good Luck Beijing website here

Having previously attended a training camp at Macau in July, at the BOA Olympic holding venue for Beijing, followed by a tournament in Western China, Terry and the team will have now fully simulated the Beijing 2008 experience. All successful Olympic qualifiers will be taken to the Macau holding camp following the termination of the European qualifiers in Athens in April 2008.

Paul gave a gritty performance against a tough Mexican. Terry Edwards commented: "Paul can be satisfied with his performances in China. The experience will have done him good and he goes home with a bronze medal. Paul is a good prospect for us."
Danny Price 91kg bt Khamzat Geliskhanov (KAZ) 26:14
Danny boxed extremely well at range against a tough opponent who was continuously looking to unload. Danny peppered Geliskhanov with jabs catching him repeatedly with the backhand. He moved in and out of range well. A thoroughly deserved victory.
Delighted for his boxer, Terry said: "Danny has boxed well this week and has a good chance against the American in the final."
