European Schoolboys Championships
The ABAE is proud to host the 2nd European Schools Championships in Portsmouth from 31 August to 9 September 2007
The event is being generously supported by the Royal Navy, Portsmouth City Council and Portsmouth Uniiversity. It will see all of the affiliated countries of the European Amateur Boxing Association compete. This could be the start of a long journey which, for some, will end in the London Olympics 2012.
All EABA countries have recived their entry forms but please download if you require further information.
Details are as follows:
The European Championships will be carried out according to the rules of AIBA, namely:
- Bouts will consist of 3 x 1.5 minutes rounds with a 1 minute break between rounds.
- RSC will be announced if a boxer is knocked down two times in one round or three times in one bout.
- Only 10 ounce AIBA approved gloves can be used, which will be provided by the organisers of the Championships
- The weight categories are: till 38.5 kg; 40; 41.5; 43; 44.5; 46; 48; 50; 52; 54; 56; 59; 62; 65; 68; till 72kg; totalling 16 weight categories.

31st Aug: (Friday) - Preliminaries:
Weigh-in and medical examination: 08.00 - 10.00
Draw: 11.00
Opening ceremony and matches: 14.00-18.00
1st Sept: (Saturday) - Preliminaries:
Weigh-in and medical examination: 08.00 - 09.00
Start of matches: 14.00-18.00
2nd Sept: (Sunday) - Preliminaries:
Weigh-in and medical examination: 08.00 - 09.00
Start of matches: 14.00-18.00
3rd Sept:(Monday) - Preliminaries:
Weigh-in and medical examination: 08.00 - 09.00
Start of the matches: 14.00-18.00
4th Sept: (Tuesday) - Preliminaries:

Note: The above schedule is subject to change according to the number of boxers entered.
Participation
All affiliated EABA National Associations shall have the right to participate on the Championships. Discrimination against any affiliated European National Associations is not permitted.
The National Associations can enter one boxer in each of the 13 weight categories.
Only boxers born after 30/8/1992 and before 30/8/1994 can enter the Championships.
All boxers must possess a valid AIBA Record Book and valid passport and must have red or blue competition vests and headguard with valid AIBA approved label.
The official team may include the following:
1 - 4 boxers + 2 coaches + 1 official
5 - 8 boxers + 3 coaches + 1 official
9 - 13 boxers + 4 coaches + 1 official
