Witch Cup Results
Amanda Coulson (63kg), Natasha Jonas (66kg) and Nicola Adams (54kg) took part in the 9th International Witch Boxing Cup for Women in Hungary, which runs from 8th to 12th August.
The results are as follows:
Thursday 9th August
Nicola Adams tamed fiery Hungarian C Nemedi with some quality shots, winning 21:5. Nicola now faces Finland in today's (Friday's) contest.
Amanda Coulson boxed L Bertrava of France. Despite a gutsy third round, Amanda's slow start lost her the contest, and the final result was 12:19 to France.
Natasha Jonas lost 0:7 despite putting up a good effort against R Holgerson of Sweden.
Friday 10th August
Nicola Adams beat Finland's H Makinen with a polished display and some good mixed head and body shots.
Saturday 11th August
Nicola went on to box Russia's S Ochigava - current world champion. Though she led by one point during the contest, the Russian pulled it back. This was an excellent performance by Nicola, who took the silver medal.
Well done to all the girls for strong performances against quality opponents.
Accompanying the team were Alwyn Belcher, Val Baguely, Mik Basi and team manager Martin Webb.
