Part Time Boxing Development Officer (Home Counties)

Salary: £25,000 Pro Rata

Base: To be confirmed (The base will be within the Home Counties region)


The Amateur Boxing Association of England and Home Counties Amateur Boxing Association are seeking to appoint a part time Boxing Development Officer to cover the Counties of Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Hertfordshire. The Officer will work in partnership with numerous bodies including County Sports Partnerships and local authorities, School Sports Partnerships and Further and Higher Education establishments to develop amateur boxing that makes a difference to local communities.

The Officer will assess current provision and establish a localised Boxing Development Plan in line with the ABAE's Whole Sport Plan; to grow the sport and improve satisfaction levels which will sustain membership levels. A key feature of this role will be providing developmental support to community amateur boxing clubs and working in partnership to establish, implement and review programmes and projects in line with the development plan.

For this exciting post, we are seeking a committed and passionate individual. The Officer should have sports development knowledge, experience of developing and maintaining successful partnerships and relationships and experience of working with the voluntary sector. Someone with project management experience, who has the ability to take the initiative to follow through on ideas and activities and drive progress towards identified development objectives, should apply. The successful candidate will have an understanding of how to support the voluntary sports sector and take a solution based approach to breaking down barriers for the wider community.

The initial appointment of 1 year will be reviewed and potentially extended based on a successful first year and identifying and accessing additional sources of funding.
