Super six are off to Bocskai

English boxers Khalid Yafai (51kg), Bradley Saunders (64kg), Tom Stalker (60kg) and Obed Mbwakongo (81kg) join GB Podium squad team mates Steven Simmons (91kg) of Scotland and Andrew Selby (54kg) of Wales for the 54th Bocskai Memorial Tournament next week in Debrecen, Hungary.

The competition is the squad's first major international of the year, and GB Performance Director Rob McCracken believes it will be a one of the key preparations for this summer's European Championships in Moscow: "Many countries will be putting their best boxers forward for Bocskai," he said, "It's ideal practice for the Europeans and the Commonwealth Games later in the year. We're making sure we get the right preparation."

Bocskai marks a return to competition for 2008 Olympian Bradley Saunders, who was unbeaten last year but suffered a hand injury while training in Milan for last year's AIBA World Championships.

Birmingham's Khalid Yafai, also a Beijing Olympian, will be hoping to sharpen his skills for the Europeans, after reaching the last eight of the World Championships last year.

176 boxers from 17 countries will take part in the competition, which runs from 10-13 February.
