Val Barker Trophy
The 'Val Barker' trophy is awarded to the 'most stylist' boxer of an Olympic Games. The trophy was established in honour of Mr Val Barker (an Englishman) and the first Honorary Secretary of the 'Federation Internationale de Boxe Amateur (FIBA) in 1920. The FIBA was superseded by the Association Internationale de Boxe Amateur (known (AIBA) in 1946), the International body of world boxing. Mr Barker was a remarkable man who did so much for both international and domestic amateur boxing. He was Life President of the ABA (1932 - 1941) and Honorary Secretary (1911 - 1926). The trophy was first awarded at the 1936 Berlin Games.
