Pat Cowdell (Warley ABC) wins his first ABA National Junior title before going on to win (4) ABA National titles (1973, 1975, 1976, 1977) and become Olympic Bronze medallist at the 1976 Montreal (Canada) Games, Commonwealth Champion at the 1974 Christchurch (New Zealand) Games at (54kg), and Bronze medallist at the 1975 European Championships held at Katowice (Poland).
